November 2008
Welcome,
I've added a level of complexity to the
Micro-Conundrum series with the introduction of Micro-Conundrum X2.
This new puzzle sculpture uses the six pieces of a Micro-Conundrum plus four
additional new pieces, resulting in a ten piece slightly larger puzzle cube.
It also sports a completely different assembly process than Micro-Conundrum......
To keep this puzzle challenging, I won't be posting any photographs of the
assembled X2 sculpture for a while; however, any buyer may request the detailed
instructions for assembly by emailing their request to me. Also, you
may request the sculpture be sent fully assembled or ready to assemble when you place your order.
As with all of my other sculptures, Micro-Conundrum X2
is colorful because it contains an assortment of metals; each
sculpture available on this page will consist of at least five different metals. This metals list, which
may be revised from time to time, presently includes:
Brass, Copper, Aluminum, Silicon Bronze, Zinc, Aluminum Bronze,
Cast Iron, Bearing Bronze, Steel and Neodynium Iron

I spent a lot of time over the last six months increasing the precision
of the pieces I produce for the Micro-Conundrum series. I want to expand on the
range of sculptures with the Standard Appearance. It turns out though, that any flaw in
a single dimension of any piece in these sculptures shows up as a gaping
crevice and is unacceptable. So, even though each piece takes less work to
finish (compared to rounding all the edges for instance), the number of pieces that fail to fit
together suitably is quite high. It's safe to say that with any further increase in size,
the Standard Appearance will be somewhat more difficult to come by.
The Micro-Conundrum X2 is also available on our mail in
Order Form.
